Wine was always good for you. Now it may be even better!

"Whether wine is a nourishing drink, a medicine or a poison is a matter of dosage."
Paracelsus, 1493-1541, alchemist, astrologer, physician;
Father of modern pharmacology and toxicology

I was recently listening to a prominent Cardiologist speak on radio spruiking the advantages of red wine consumption (I think I love him!) due to its antioxidant resveratrol concentrations (to help reduce the free radicals in our bodies) he then introduced a guest that he had attended medical school with, Dr Philip Norrie, a GP in Sydney that also has a company called ‘The Wine Doctor’. (http://www.winedoctor.com.au/) have a look at the site, it’s very interesting. There is also a link to Dr Norrie’s website and if you are interested you can purchase his wines. Following is an exert from his web site:

For years man has heard of the medical benefits of wine, and now they are even greater.
Dr. Philip Norrie, aka ‘The Wine Doctor’ released the world’s first R.E.W (Resveratrol Enhanced Wine). Through cutting edge wine making processes, Dr Norrie and his team have been able to develop a way to increase the amount of anti-oxidant resveratrol in both white and red wine. This new process is set to increase the amount of resveratrol in white wine from 1mg/l to 100mg/l and red wine from 3-6mg/l to 100mg/l making the health benefits of wine even greater.

I am not advocating the consumption of excess alcohol nor its use for children but used in moderation (250ml per day was mentioned by the Cardiologist) its a good thing – especially if, like me, you love a glass!

Cheers :))))
