Kim Kardashian’s boot
Yesterdays
headline:
Refunds: Kardashian curves
cost shoe company $40m
“The US
government wants consumers to know that simply sporting a pair of Skechers'
fitness shoes is not going to get you Kim Kardashian's curves or Brooke Burke's
toned tush.
Skechers USA
Inc will pay $US40 million to settle charges by the Federal Trade Commission
that the footwear company made unfounded claims that its Shape-ups shoes would
help people lose weight and strengthen their butt, leg and stomach muscles.
Kardashian, Burke and other celebrities endorsed the shoes in Skechers ads.
Wednesday's
settlement also involves the company's Resistance Runner, Toners, and Tone-ups
shoes and claims of deceptive advertising for those shoes as well.”
What’s next? We all should understand that by purchasing some runners, walkers or whatever we like to call them we are not going to look like a celebrity! What we will look like it a fitter version of our selves which takes work. I’m sure the majority of us also know that wearing fit for purpose shoes while we exercise is the best thing to do (Personally I have walkers similar to the ones mentioned but made by another company without the price tag).
I remember my hairdresser saying to me
that so many of her clients would walk in with a magazine clipping of their favourite
celebrities new hair cut and say ‘I want to look like that’ it took all he
strength not to say ‘maybe if you were 30 years younger or 50kg lighter or your
hair just won’t look like that EVER’. Our need to look like someone else is sad
to say the least. I can remember a Muso mate saying to me a long time ago that
he had never seen an ugly bride – why – because of their inner glow. So my challenge
to all is to find your inner glow every day whether old, young, slim or cuddly
as this is what makes YOU attractive.
Note to self: Red Bull advertises that
it ‘gives you wings’ wonder if that is a law suit in the making?
Cheers :)))
