As I sorted through some paperwork I came across some old letters that the kids had written to me when they were little.

Apart from the spelling I had a giggle and waited for its author to arrive home from work. When she read it she gave a giggle and I think she was pleased that I chose to keep such reminders of her childhood, then promptly borrowed it and put a copy on Facebook. Apart from the likes by her boyfriend, one of my girlfriends and her mates there was comments about the spelling and the hand writing - her response "yet here we are lol it's not that much different haha". Not sure if she was talking about the spelling, writing or the relationship.
As you can see many years have passed since the note was written. Many things have happened including a whole lot of bad stuff but she has survived nicely. My baby has a boyfriend who she is very happy with; he's a very nice young man. Doesn't drink, smoke, take drugs or gamble (apart from the odd lotto ticket), thinks of his and their future, works hard and has solid values - she is so happy. A couple of weeks ago he took her away for their anniversary. She had no idea where before she went as he had organised everything well in advance. He picked her up from work and drove her to a place just outside Lithgow for the weekend.

He bought her an enormous bunch of roses and when they died he bought her some more.

Time goes so quickly and they grow into adults before you know it. I still remember the little girl that was always dirty and could never work out had she could end up like that walking from the bedroom to the front door. My Mother used to call the 'little me too' as when ever you would mention doing something or going somewhere a little voice would say 'me too?'. She hand speech therapy as she didn't talk (you would never know it now) and would cling to your leg she was so shy. It seems like yesterday.
