Sunday Bloody Sunday
What a day
yesterday, so glad it’s Monday!
I blogged yesterday about ‘the weight debate’
after I read the article in the Sunday Telegraph about Women’s average weight,
I then read the Sun Heralds article by Chrissie Swan and the battle of having
an overweight 3yo and the thoughts of her own battles as a child. From there I
was reading Mrs Woogs blog about all the crap she has gone through since the
article written about her and Edenland that week and the dickheads doing a pre
interview interview asking if she was going to have more children to blog about?
WTF!
I’m relatively
new to this blogging thing but I’m not new to the human race! None of us are.
This medium is open to anyone that would like to use it from 8 to 80. We all
have experiences, advice and situations we want to share; sometimes in the hope
it’s not only us, sometimes because we are just passionate about a subject,
sometimes we hope someone else may not make the same mistakes but there is
always a reason even if it’s just to get something off our chests.
Motherhood
is a lifelong job (just ask your Grandmother it you are lucky enough to have
one) and we are lucky now to be able to share our experiences with others all
over the world. If you think this is wrong DON’T READ THE BLOGS! The exchange
of banter makes us all feel like we are not alone in our efforts in life, after
all there are no life or parent instruction leaflets given out just publications
telling us of others experiences and advice from professionals. This advice
changes consistently especially from the professionals, the perfect example is
when it’s OK for a baby to start solids, when can they have eggs or putting
honey on a dummy – In my mother’s day they said you should dip a dummy in
Brandy to ‘sooth’ an upset child – I think they might call this child abuse
these days! Think of a Blog as one of those experience books written in instalments!
My children
are much older than most of the other ‘Mummy Bloggers’ that I know of, but for
goodness sakes I’m still a Mummy – a job I could trade in some days but most
days it’s a good thing. I read what other Mummies write and a lot of the time I
have a little giggle to myself as it brings back memories I had forgotten,
thanks ladies so much for this. I hope one day I will have grandchildren of my
own (have a few ‘adopted’ ones now) and the cycle will start over again except
this time I’ll be able to hand them back (I promise no red drink and fairy
floss).
My baby
(19) just text me to say she will be out for dinner tonight, after a couple of
texts back and forth she tells me she has been stuck in the loo at work for the last
10minutes with one of her ‘stomach aches’
and there’s no spray ‘FML’.
Being a
mother doesn’t change just the language and means of communications do.
Keep
Smiling :)))
OOPS WRONG MUMMY!
